Secure messages on WhatsApp Web
GabSafe encrypts text in Chrome on WhatsApp Web and Telegram Web. It is a security layer for secure messages: only someone with the same secret phrase can read them. Protected text starts with GSF:. It does not replace WhatsApp or Telegram end-to-end encryption. It does not send chats or the secret phrase to GabSafe servers. Not affiliated with Meta, WhatsApp, or Telegram.
How do I send secure messages on WhatsApp Web?
Install GabSafe in Chrome, open WhatsApp Web, and agree on a secret phrase with the person who will read it. The lock encrypts the text before it is sent. Anyone without the same phrase only sees the block that starts with GSF:.
Is GabSafe real encryption?
Yes. Encryption happens in your Chrome, on the text you choose to protect. The message becomes readable again only with the same secret phrase.
Does this add security to the message?
WhatsApp and Telegram already protect the path. On a computer the text is still on the screen. GabSafe adds security to the content: an extra layer on what was written, without hiding who you talk to.
Can I protect messages on Telegram too?
Yes, on Telegram Web, in the same Chrome. The phone app does not use the extension.
Does the secret phrase go to a server?
No. The text and the secret phrase stay on your computer. The account stores only the email and whether the license is valid.
